Your journey begins with a scenic drive from your hotel to the picturesque Kroustas forest, near the historic Agios Mamantos church, offering panoramic views of our region's rich landscapes.As we embark on an easy hike through the forest, our senses will come alive with the fragrance of fresh spices, herbs, and greens awaiting our harvest – from aromatic oregano and thyme to succulent chicory and beyond. Along the way, we'll explore the legendary Tafos Cave, once a secret refuge for rebel armies during the 1940s, and meet 'Giannis,' a local shepherd whose expertise will unveil the art of crafting exquisite goat cheese. Indulge in a tasting session against the backdrop of the breathtaking bay.With baskets brimming with our botanical treasures, we'll retreat to the enchanting 'Pirate's Metoxi,' a traditional house nestled near Kroustas village. Here, under the guidance of our skilled host Giorgos, we'll transform our foraged finds into a sumptuous traditional lunch. Witness the age-old process of crafting 'raki,' and savor its unique flavors during a tasting session.From sipping traditional tea to savoring delicacies like Boubouristous (snails with vinegar and rosemary), Tsigariasto (lamb), and hearty Greek salad, every dish tells a story of local flavors and culinary heritage. Round off the feast with a taste of carob milk or coffee, a nod to the region's rich culinary traditions.As the day draws to a close, our journey concludes with a return to your hotel, armed with cherished memories, newfound culinary skills, and the recipe for the traditional delicacies we've savored together.
